Easter holidays at UK boarding schools

UK boarding schools close over the Easter holidays, and boarding houses close with them. Students who are not travelling home for the break need somewhere safe, comfortable and properly supervised to stay. Our Easter Host Family service places students with an experienced host family for the holiday, near enough to their school that the return to term is straightforward. Students who have stayed with one of our host families before may be placed with the same family again where availability allows, and many families welcome returning students year after year.

What is arranged

• Transfers between the school and the host family at the start and end of the stay
• All meals and a quiet place to study during the holiday
• A dedicated point of contact for parents throughout the stay

Additional services

Every family has different preferences, and we accommodate them wherever we can. We can find a suitable host family based on your requirements within a selected region or within a chosen distance from the school, arrange transfers to and from the host family including airport transfers for students flying partway through the break, and organise longer or shorter stays to fit around revision courses, school trips or family travel plans. If your child has dietary requirements, pets they love or would rather avoid, or simply gets on better in a household with other young people, tell us and we will match accordingly.

Safeguarding comes first

Every host family is personally recruited and checked under our child protection and safeguarding policy. This includes Enhanced DBS checks for all adult household members, in-home visits, professional and personal references, and safeguarding training. British Guardianship remains your child's educational guardian throughout the stay, so there is always a familiar organisation responsible for their welfare.
