British Guardianship has provided UK guardianship for international students since 2010. As an AEGIS accredited provider and BSA Certified Guardian, we act as the nominated guardian for students at UK boarding schools, colleges and universities, giving parents overseas a trusted point of contact in the UK throughout their child's education.
UK Boarding School Guardianship
Year-round care for students under 18 at UK boarding schools, with British Guardianship acting as the nominated guardian and main UK contact for the school. We attend parents' meetings, monitor academic progress and welfare, arrange accommodation with vetted host families during half-terms, exeats and holidays, and organise safe transfers to and from airports. UK University Guardianship
Many UK universities require international students who begin their studies before turning 18 to have an appointed educational guardian. We provide the guardianship confirmation universities ask for, act as the student's UK point of contact, and support them through arrival, settling in and their first months on campus until they reach 18. If your current guardianship arrangements are not meeting your expectations, you can move to British Guardianship at any point in the academic year. We manage the handover with your child's school and previous provider, arrange a new host family where needed, and make sure care and communication continue without interruption. We primarily maintain continuous contact with students and their families through a dedicated WhatsApp or WeChat group chat. The group includes both the student and the parents, ensuring everyone stays connected, informed and aligned in real time.
Prompt UK Emergency Assistance
Being physically based in the UK is vital when plans change unexpectedly. We provide immediate assistance during critical disruptions, such as unexpected student illness or sudden flight cancellations, handling the logistics on the ground so you do not have to worry.
Flexible Face-to-Face Visits
To keep our packages cost-effective, we do not bundle unnecessary travel fees into our base rates. We focus on digital mentorship, and in-person welfare visits can be arranged whenever parents request them.
Travel & Welfare Support
Students always have a trusted person to contact at any time, whether they have a personal problem to discuss or need help arranging holiday travel and transport. Above all, we do everything possible to safeguard and promote each student's welfare.
Additional Services by British Guardianship
Alongside guardianship, we offer two services that support international families at every stage of their child's UK education. Our host family search finds carefully vetted UK families to host students during half-terms, exeats and holidays, and for short stays. Every host family is visited in their home, reference checked and holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, and we remain your child's educational guardian throughout each stay. Where availability allows, we place students with a family they already know.
Our international student placement service helps families choose and secure the right school or university. We place students under 18 at government-approved public and private schools with a full boarding option, and students aged 18 and over at selected partner colleges and universities. As part of Study First Group, a UCAS Registered Centre, we guide you through admissions from the first shortlist to the final offer.
