Short Stay Host Family Accommodation

Not every stay is a full holiday. Students sometimes need somewhere to stay for just a few nights: before term starts, between programmes, after a late flight, or while travel arrangements change at short notice. Our Short Stay Host Family service places students with an experienced, fully checked host family for exactly as long as they need, from a single night to a few weeks, so there is never a moment when your child has nowhere safe to be.

Who needs a Short Stay Host Family?

• Students arriving in the UK before their boarding house opens for term
• Students with a gap between a course finishing and a flight home
• Students affected by unexpected changes to travel or school arrangements, such as cancelled flights or early closures
• Students attending short courses, school interviews, assessments or admissions visits
• Students needing accommodation during quarantine, illness recovery or other exceptional circumstances agreed with the school

What is arranged

• A host family matched to the student's age, language and individual needs
• Transfers between the airport, school and host family as required
• All meals and a comfortable room for the length of the stay
• A dedicated point of contact for parents throughout, however short the stay

Additional services

Short stays often come with short notice, and we are set up for that. Tell us the dates and the student's school, and we will confirm what is available. We can find a suitable host family within a selected region or a chosen distance from the school or airport, arrange transfers at either end of the stay, and extend the arrangement if plans change again. For longer requirements, our Short Stay Guardianship service covers students visiting the UK for short courses and programmes.

Safeguarding comes first

Every host family is personally recruited and checked under our child protection and safeguarding policy, whether a student stays for one night or several weeks. This includes Enhanced DBS checks for all adult household members, in-home visits, professional and personal references, and safeguarding training. You can read more about living in a host family.
