The Nursery, Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form share two campuses, William Jones and St Catherine's. With a history of more than 400 years and long-standing ties to the Haberdashers' Company, it became a single co-educational school in 2024, when the boys' and girls' schools combined.

In the Sixth Form, students take three or four A Levels from more than 30 subjects, with BTEC and CTEC courses and the Extended Project also offered. A purpose-built Sixth Form Centre provides study and social space.

Boarding at Haberdashers' Monmouth School

More than 100 pupils board, around half of them from overseas, representing more than 20 countries. Boarding runs from Year 3 to Year 13. Full boarders can stay seven nights a week, every weekend included, and the school also offers weekly boarding of up to four nights, occasional boarding and day boarding.

Boarding Houses and Accommodation

Junior boarders in Years 3 to 8 live in Monnow House, a co-educational house where they share small dormitories of three or four. From Year 9, boys board in New House on the William Jones Campus and girls in Twiston Davies House on the St Catherine's Campus. Sixth Formers move to Augusta for girls or Buchanan for boys, with single en-suite study bedrooms and shared kitchens. Resident house staff, matrons and tutors run each house.

Boarding Life

Senior boarders have dinner at 6pm, followed by compulsory supervised study and free time. Saturdays bring sports fixtures, Sunday outings include cinema, bowling, ice skating and fishing, and houses hold film nights and celebrations such as Lunar New Year. There are no formal exeats, only one or two quiet weekends each term.

Academic and Pastoral Support

Two Health and Wellbeing Centres are staffed by registered nurses, a doctor visits twice a week and night matrons look after boarders who fall ill. School counsellors are available through the week. In the Prep School, learning support follows a graduated model of classroom adaptation, targeted literacy and numeracy interventions and individual plans.
