Its four divisions are Ruspini House nursery, Cadogan House prep, the Senior School and Hind House Sixth Form. Founded in 1788 to educate the daughters of Freemasons, it has been open to all girls since 1978.
Girls follow the national curriculum to GCSE, with Latin studied in Year 7, and Sixth Form students choose from A Levels and BTEC courses, with the Extended Project Qualification also available. Rickmansworth station is within walking distance, and central London is around 22 minutes away by train.
Boarding is offered from Year 5 to Year 13, and around 100 girls board, most of them full boarders. About two thirds of boarders come from overseas, representing more than 10 nationalities. Weekly and flexi boarding are also offered, and full boarders follow a weekend programme in school.
Boarders are grouped by age across three houses on the central campus. Years 5 and 6 have their own area with a shared dormitory and common room, Years 7 to 9 share rooms of two or three, and Years 10 and 11 have twin study bedrooms. Sixth Form boarders live in Connaught House, with university-style twin or single rooms, common rooms and more independence. Each house is run by a resident housemistress and a boarding team.
The Performing Arts Centre stays open to boarders until 9pm in the evenings. Weekends follow a full programme of trips and activities, including museum and gallery visits in London, horse riding, trampolining, ice skating and craft sessions such as pottery painting.
The learning support department, known as PALS, supports girls with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, and speech, language or emotional health needs, through adaptive teaching, one-to-one lessons and exam access arrangements. An educational psychologist, occupational therapist and speech and language therapist work on site.
