The school occupies a 75-acre site within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with all sections of the school on one campus. Founded in 1897, Saint Felix is part of Inspired Learning Group, a family of independent schools and nurseries across England.

Boarding is available from Year 6 to Year 13. Pupils work towards GCSEs and then A Levels, with Sixth Form subjects including Business, Criminology, Economics and Psychology, and the Extended Project Qualification offered where appropriate.

Boarding at Saint Felix School

Saint Felix has a boarding community of around 40 pupils, and the school includes students from around 30 countries. Alongside full boarding for the whole term, families can choose weekly boarding with school transport at the start and end of the week, two or three night flexi boarding and occasional overnight stays. Short-stay boarding of three weeks or more is available for students in Years 6 to 13, mainly for international students, and many who join for a term go on to extend.

Boarding Houses and Accommodation

Boarders in Years 6 to 11 live in Somerville and Gardiner, a combined house with separate sleeping areas for boys and girls and shared social spaces. Sixth Form boarders live in Fawcett House, which was renovated in 2024. House Parents live on campus full time, supported by a team of house tutors.

Boarding Life

Boarders have dedicated study time in the evenings and a programme of evening activities. Outings have included bowling, cinema trips, escape rooms, tubing, jet boat trips along the coast and visits to Norwich and Cambridge.

Academic and Pastoral Support

The school supports a wide range of learning needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health needs, moderate learning difficulties, and physical and sensory impairments. English language tuition is arranged for each student as required. An on-site medical centre looks after boarders' health, and every sixth former has a mentor who follows their academic progress, personal development and wellbeing.

English Language Requirements

Saint Felix School does not publish minimum CEFR or IELTS levels by year of entry. English is assessed as part of the application, and British Guardianship confirms the level required for each year of entry during placement. Once enrolled, students receive English language tuition according to individual need.

Child Student Visa

Students coming to the UK from overseas will usually need a Child Student visa. Saint Felix School is a licensed Child Student sponsor on the UKVI register through Inspired Learning Group, and issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies to students who need one. The school works with a regulated immigration firm on visa documents, while the visa application itself is submitted by parents. Our Child Student visa guide explains the requirements and process, and families holding a British National (Overseas) visa can contact us for guidance on the BN(O) route.

Frequently Asked Questions

UK boarding schools generally require international students under 18 to have a UK-based guardian, and British Guardianship confirms Saint Felix School's specific requirements as part of your application. We provide this as an AEGIS accredited boarding school guardianship service.

Whenever your child cannot stay at Saint Felix School, for example during half terms, exeats or holidays when boarding houses close, they stay with one of our vetted host families. British Guardianship remains your child's educational guardian throughout every stay.

We have guardians available and ready to be assigned. The overall timeframe depends on how quickly the required paperwork is completed and communication with Saint Felix School is finalised. A UK student guardian must be a responsible adult, usually aged 25 or over, who lives permanently in the UK, speaks fluent English and is close enough to the school to respond quickly in an emergency; many boarding schools set a maximum travel time. The guardian must be contactable 24 hours a day and hold an Enhanced DBS check where they or their household host the student. Saint Felix School may also ask for the guardian's details before the start of term and set additional requirements of its own. As an AEGIS accredited guardianship provider, British Guardianship meets these requirements on your behalf, with vetted guardians, Enhanced DBS checked host families and 24-hour emergency support.
