Learn More →Cobham Hall is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 11 to 19 in Cobham, Kent. It opened in 1962 in Cobham Hall, the historic former home of the Earls of Darnley. Originally a girls' school, it introduced a co-educational Sixth Form in 2022 and became fully co-educational from Year 7 to Year 13 in September 2025. The school is part of Mill Hill Education Group and belongs to the Round Square network.
The school is non-selective. Its skills-based Perspectives programme runs from Year 7 to the Sixth Form alongside GCSEs in Years 10 and 11 and around 20 A Level subjects, with PE also available as a BTEC and the Extended Project Qualification taken alongside three A Levels.
Cobham Hall offers full boarding for international students; current boarder numbers are available on request. Boarders come from around 25 countries, and most board full-time, with optional exeat weekends. Weekly boarding, popular in the Sixth Form, and flexi boarding are also offered, and international students can join for a term or a shorter immersion stay.
Boarders live in Harriet House and Stuart House, each led by a Housemistress under the Head of Boarding, with weekly house meetings and shared celebration dinners. Room allocation is confirmed by the school on entry.
The boarding day starts at 7.00am, and evening prep runs from 6.30pm to 8.00pm, with bedtimes staggered from 9.15pm in Year 7 to 11.00pm in the Sixth Form. Evening outings include swimming, bowling, escape rooms and trampoline parks. Weekends bring a Saturday enrichment programme on some weeks, shuttles to Bluewater for older students and to Ebbsfleet for the Sixth Form, and trips to London, while older boarders may cook in the house.
A Student Support Department helps students with additional learning needs, and an EAL Department supports students learning English, including adjustment to UK boarding life. Students belong to tutor groups of 9 to 15, a Wellbeing Centre is open at lunchtime and after school, and independent counsellors are available. Almost all Sixth Form leavers go on to university.

A UK student guardian must be a responsible adult, usually aged 25 or over, who lives permanently in the UK, speaks fluent English and is close enough to the school to respond quickly in an emergency; many boarding schools set a maximum travel time. The guardian must be contactable 24 hours a day and hold an Enhanced DBS check where they or their household host the student.
